SOUP KITCHEN IN PROVINCETOWN ANNUAL APPEAL
With gratitude for your ongoing support, the Soup Kitchen in Provincetown (SKIP) begins its 34th season! The SKIP board, staff and volunteers are mindful of the lifeline you have extended to us as the primary source of our funding.
Last season, your generosity not only helped us fight Outer Cape food insecurity and off-season isolation but allowed us to serve some 25,000 meals! We’re committed to expanding our services to those whose needs are more pronounced during the fall and winter months. In addition to underwriting our weekday lunches and weekend to-go meals, your donation helps us maintain and expand a host of services, including:
—HOME DELIVERY. Through a successful new year-round program, we’re now delivering nutritious meals to those with health, mobility and other qualifying issues.
—GIFT CARDS. Our supermarket gift cards continue to provide a vital supplement to the grocery needs of recipients identified in partnership with the likes of Helping Our Women (HOW) and a church largely serving the area’s Jamaican community.
—CROP SWAP. SKIP has made monthly funds available for this year-round, free provider of fresh fruit and vegetables, located at the Provincetown Public Library.
—HEALTH & WELLNESS. In twice monthly visits, a registered nurse takes guests’ blood pressure and assesses other health issues. Additionally, our NARCAN training has prepared us for a rapid response to drug-related emergencies.
—OUTREACH. Besides combatting hunger and isolation, we’re building partnerships with such organizations as HOW and the Homeless Prevention Council (HPC).
To donate in this season of giving, you may use the QR code in the upper-right corner of this letter, visit our website, www.skipfood.org, or mail a check to SKIP in the enclosed envelope.
In gratitude, we wish you and yours a most happy and healthy Holiday Season!
